About San Miguel Rent

Why a rental site for San Miguel de Allende, what it covers, how a listing gets here and how the site pays for itself.

San Miguel Rent lists houses and apartments to rent in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato: vacation stays, monthly stays and annual leases, furnished or unfurnished. Each price is shown the way the owner lets the place, by the night, the week or the month.

Why a site for San Miguel

San Miguel runs two rental markets side by side. One is quoted in US dollars and advertised in English, much of it to people coming for the northern winter. The other is quoted in pesos on Mexican portals, mostly on annual leases. On 4 October 2026, 84 of the 190 priced entries in Realty San Miguel's long-term book were in dollars and 106 in pesos.

Between the two sits the stay many people actually want: one, two or four months. Almost every furnished listing at San Miguel Rentables carried a three-month minimum when we read it on 24 September 2026, and from November to April a monthly renter is competing with nightly guests and wedding parties for the same houses. Shorter monthly stays are arranged directly with owners. That is the gap this site is for.

What it covers

The town is small, and its areas differ in daily things: hills, noise, cars, water. Listings are filed by colonia, among them Centro, San Antonio, Guadalupe, Guadiana, Los Frailes and La Lejona. Three guides sit alongside them: where to live, which compares those six areas; the cost of living, in pesos and dollars; and the best time to rent, from the cold nights of January to the Alborada fireworks. Each names its sources and the date they were checked.

How listings get here

Owners send us their place. We write the listing, check the facts and publish it. We re-check every listing within thirty days and print the date of that check on the listing; a listing nobody confirms is unpublished after sixty days. In a town where the same house can be priced one way in January and another in August, that date is worth reading before the photographs.

How we make money

Listing is free for owners, we take no commission on any rental, and tenants pay us nothing, whichever currency the rent is quoted in. The site earns from advertising and from affiliate links to hotels and tours, always marked as such. Our disclosure explains how they work.

What we never do

We hold no money and sign no contract on anyone's behalf: the deposit, the lease and the keys are between you and the owner. We never publish an address without the owner's explicit permission, so a listing may name the colonia and stop there. If something on the site is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
